Egyptian Glazed Faience Ushabti

**First Time At Auction**

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 664 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti covered in faint blue-green glaze which has lightened to a yellow-green hue. The figure stands in mummiform atop fused legs and holds the symbolic pick and hoe in hands crossed atop the chest. The faded visage exhibits recessed ovoid eyes, puffy cheeks, and a petite chin, all beneath a simple tripartite wig. Size: 0.9" W x 2.55" H (2.3 cm x 6.5 cm); 3.6" H (9.1 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition Report: Chips and abrasions commensurate with age on obverse, peripheries, and reverse, with lightening to original glaze pigmentation, and softening to finer details particularly on face, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits and nice traces of original glaze pigmentation throughout. Trace of original blue-green glaze visible on verso of feet.
