An Italian carved coral and tortoise shell Nativity Scene - Trapani, second half of 18th Century the traditional figures of the sacred representation, depicted in their typical attitudes, carved in Mediterranean red coral (Corallum rubrum, Linnaeus 175)8, also present in rough branches and long drops. The Nativity presents a traditional architectural backdrop made of rough lava stone composed of ruins and the main characters of the scene are inserted within the broken arch of the background. Tortoise shell case. Dimensions 30.5 x 30.5 cm, depth 5.5 cm. Item condition grading: **** good. Ce.S.Ar. Certificate of antiquity (pre-1947).
