Katana - Tamahagane stem - Tokugawa Daimyo Nariaki Rare Tokei-mon met certificaat in prachtige montering, gesingeerde tsuba - Japan - about 1840

Unique katana - tamahagane steel - Tokugawa Daimyo Nariaki rare Tokei-mon in a gorgeous mount, signed tsuba - Japan - ca. 1840. The blue paper is the official proof of purchase issued on 25 June 1959 and describes the sword as 'shoshin' (genuine) . The white paper is the Japanese registration certificate. Tokugawa Daimyo Nariaki had a passion for swords, and started forging them himself around 1833, whereby he developed his own technique called 'Yakumo-Gitae'. He didn't provide his swords with a signature, only a Tokei-mon ('Tokei' is a clock) . The koshirae is in great condition. The katana is in acceptable condition, small 2 mm hagire, nice polish, see pictures. Length in koshirae: 104.
