NAPOLEONIC WAR PRISONER-OF-WAR SHIP MODEL, CASED
Fantastically Detailed and Correct Model tagged "French First-Rate Ship of 116 Guns, 'Napoleon', Antique Boxwood Model ca. 1794-1814, by Napoleonic Prisoner of War" and "Model Documented by R. Michael Wall, Salem, Mass." Depicted fully rigged, without sails, having a planked hull with gunports open and cannon out, inlaid decoration on stern and rails, mounted on original octagonal footed platform with inlaid balustrade, on later brown velvet plateau, in glass case with mahogany base, ship is about 18" long, 20" x 24" x 13 3/4" overall case. Fine condition (one bit of rigging loose at stern). Provenance: From a Private Collection, Camden ME.
