RARE CHINESE PAINTED ENAMEL BOX & STAND
circa Qianlong reign (1736-1795), of unusual and auspcious triple-lozenge ('fangsheng') form painted in famille rose enamels on a yellow ground, the lid with thumb-grooved and superimposed chain-link borders painted with a blue key pattern on each of the three sections, with interspersed sprays of floral scroll above and 'flower-ball' decoration along the sides, the lower half of the box of a reciprocating shape with yellow sides and white interior, with conforming carved hardwood stand
h. 3-1/4 w. 8-1/2 d. 4-3/4 in. (with stand)
generally very good, with areas of craquelure (stable), some loss to one of the terminal edges, a few small flakes, area of loss underneath, the stand with a few chips and missing one foot
