Egyptian Amulet Collection
Late Period-Ptolemaic Period, 664-30 BC. A group of five glazed composition and glass amulets comprising: two depicting nude dwarf god Bes with grotesque leonine features; a blue Bes amulet with yellow detailing, wearing a tall feather crown; a squatting female (Bubu); a flat-backed bust of a goddess wearing a tripartite wig, suspension loop above. 10.9 grams total, 21-27mm (3/4 - 1"). From the private collection of jewellery designer Natalia Josca (1933-2007), New York, USA; her collection formed personally from 1972-early 1980s, much of which was later made into designer jewellery.
