Chinese Famille Rose Vase, Da Ya Zai Mark, Guangxu
A large Chinese famille rose vase dating from the Guangxu period. The vase features a yellow-ground neck with black and white lotus tracery; a turquoise-ground body with pink blooming branches, narcissus flowers, lingzhi; and stylized elephant heads holding engaged rings at the shoulders. The bottom features a 4-character Da Ya Zhai mark.
Dimensions: 20 1/2 inches tall X 12 inches wide; 52.1 cm tall X 30.5 cm wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Numerous repairs at the rim.
Provenance: From Mr. Loh in Los Angeles, California; a family heirloom. This collection was acquired in Singapore by Mr. Loh's family over 65 years ago. It was shipped to the US following the death of Mr. Loh's mother.
