Ɵ Hasan al-Rashidi, Al-Durr al-Thamin fi Fann al-Aghrabadhin (a medical work on pharmacology), printed in Arabic, on paper, by the Bulaq Press [Egypt (Cairo), dated 1258 AH (1842 AD)] single volume, including a large folding plate depicting chemical practices, lacking the 12 pages of fihrist at the front of the volume, engraved head-piece opening the text, a few small annotations to margins and verso of first leaf in a later hand, occasional damp-staining and creasing to leaves, final plate a little torn with loss to outer edges and along folds, 250 by 180 mm.; late nineteenth-century morocco with flap, covers ruled in gilt with central circular device stamped in blind and decorated with gilt slightly rubbed at extremities A rare pharmacological treatise printed in the final year of the first Bulaq press publications, and reprinted in 1266 AH (1849-50).
