Rare Jules Leleu Extension Dining Table

Dimensions (H, W, D): 29"h, 108"w, 49.25"d with all leaves installed; 29"h, 49.5"dia without leaves
Additional Information: Table has a radially veneered top in figured quarter-sawn anigre. The legs are octagonal with ormolu beaded details and sabots. Additionally, the table has three 19.5" wide leaves with a wheeled central support. The dining set comprised of table, sideboard/commode and chairs were commissioned by the Derveaux family in 1953 and are depicted in situ in a 1956 photograph in the dining room of Mr. & Mrs. Derveaux in "The House of Leleu." The chairs were also featured in the Introspective Magazine article "10 Interior Designers Reimagine Iconic Rooms" (Jorge S. Arango, 6.28.2020). Provenance: Mr. & Mrs. Derveaux, France | Derveaux family heirs, Montreal, Canada | purchased directly by the consignor. Reference: The House of Leleu, Francoise Siriex, pg. 224.

Condition Report: very good, patina to metal, minor wear and light scratches to lacquer, nicks and small chip to edges of leaves, two leaves slightly lighter in color, wear consistent with age and light use
