ROYAL INTEREST: A George III silver coffee pot

Urn form with part fluted lower body, hinged cover with flush hinge, fluted dome centre, wood handle, inscription 'To Colonel Sir Edward Bradford, G.C.B, on his marriage, from Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, Octr 25th 1898' and the arms for Bradford, height 23cm, weight total 34.7oz.

Colonel Sir Edward Ridley Colborne Bradford, 1st Baronet, GCB, GCVO, KCSI, ADC (1836-1911) was a British Army officer who served in Persia and India, later becoming Aide-de-Camp to Queen Victoria.
His military career was cut short after his left arm was bitten off by a tiger. Undeterred, he continued to pursue his passion for horseback spear hunting, overcoming his disadvantage by holding the reins in his teeth.
