This is a rare and gorgeous Dinner set for 8 with Serving pieces, made in Limoges, France by GDA Haviland .
The pattern is Schleiger 278.
Pieces of this pattern were made between the 1880's and the early 1900's in Limoges, France.
It features a yellow geometrical design on the border and a gold rim. It has a luxurious gold rim.
The set includes:
8 (eight) Dinner plates 9 3/4" in diameter
8 (eight) Luncheon/Salad plates 8 5/8" in diameter.
8 (eight) Bread and butter / Dessert plates - 6 1/4" in diameter.
8 (eight) Fruit Bowls/Nappies - 5" in diameter.
8 (eight) Coffee/Tea Cups- 3 1/4" in diameter at the rim and 2" tall
8 (eight) Saucers for the cups - 5 1/2" in diameter
8 (eight) Demitasse Coffee/Espresso Cups - 2 1/8" in diameter at the rim and 2 3/8" tall
8 (eight) Saucers for the cups - 4 1/4" in diameter
1 (one) Oval platter - 16 1/8" long and 12 1/8" wide
1 (one) Serving tureen - 10" with the handles and 5" to the end of the lid
The set is very rare and just beautiful. It will make a wonderful gift or will be a great addition to any vintage china collection.
It is in good used antique condition with no crazing. There could be some wear on the gold details and some utensils marks.
