Case: Plain polished snap back with enamel crest and monogram, no. 3129 on lid, no. 338 on pendant and with French hallmarks

Provenance:
The present watch was made for J. Griswold Webb (1890 – 1934), a prominent New York politician who had a long career in the State legislature. Adventurous, in 1912 he and a fellow Harvard student drove an automobile from New York across the continent to Vancouver. Later he developed an interest in flying and was instrumental in developing commercial aviation while a State senator from 1923 to 1934.
