Antique sculpture of Our Lady of Carmo - Wood and silver From the 19th century. Antique sacred art piece. Image of Our Lady of Carmo, carved in lined and polychrome wood, dating from the 19th century (period between 1830 and 1850) . Portuguese silver crown (without assay office mark) with the Holy Spirit dove on top. This sculpture was carried on trips to protect travellers and this handling caused some wear on the wood. The polychromy has very antique repaints. Crown: height of 2. 5 cm, diameter of 2. 5 cm and weight of 5 g. The image with the crown measures 22 cm of height.
