GEM SET LONG CHAIN, EARLY 19TH CENTURY AND LATER

Designed as a curb link chain, alternate links engraved with floral decoration, suspending nine seals and charms, comprising: a fob seal with a bloodstone matrix engraved with the crest of Clan Colquhoun, a charm with a blank carnelian and lapis lazuli matrix, an orb opening to reveal images of Santiago, a fob seal with a carnelian matrix engraved with the coat of arms of the Isle of Anglesey, a piece of turquoise within a rope twist border, an orb highlighted with rose diamonds opening to reveal seven photo frames, three monkeys above a chrysoprase cabochon, a reliquary set with aventurine quartz and a gem set orb, length approximately 650mm, Spanish assay mark.

Condition Report:
Necklace is made up of three bracelets, each measuring approximately 220mm long. Only one clasp open, tongue of which stamped with Spanish assay for 18 carat gold. The remaining two clasps do not open, would benefit from attention from a jeweller. Tarnish to metal throughout, particularly to orb with images of Santiago, which also opens easily. Gem set orb bale stamped 750 and Italian maker's mark 270 FI. Surface wear to gemstones, particularly on the gem set orb - some stones with small chips. Gross weight approximately 257 grams. Overall condition good.
