19th C. Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Cylinder
East Asia, China, later Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A classic example of Chinese blue and white porcelain, this is a lovely cylindrical vessel with small horizontal ovoid openings serving as handles at top and bottom. The exterior surface is decorated with fantastical imagery inspired by nature - long-tailed birds flying in a sky populated by dramatic clouds above waves and flowers.
