ENFIELD 1878 MARTINI MKII S.S. MILITARY RIFLE

SERIAL SA2209. BARREL 33". CALIBER .577. Zulu War era .577/450 Martini–Henry single shot rifle first introduced in 1878. This is not one of the clunkers found in Nepal. It is an all original rifle in fine shape with numerous London proof marks. Right side of frame is stamped with crown, VR, Enfield 1878 II. The serial number is stamped with broad arrow, S.A. , 2209 AND L. No import stamps. Left side of walnut stock has broad arrows and Enfield in circle with RM crown and II over I. Metal is a smooth patina mix of soft brown and blue with razor sharp legends. Rear sight out to 1200 meters with fire blue blade. Mirror bright bore, excellent wood with minor scuffs and smooth metal. No cleaning rod. Nice example. A
