SHARPS 1865 CONVERSION SRC
SERIAL C14009. BARREL 22". CALIBER .50-70. This carbine began life as a Civil War percussion carbine with low serial number. After the War between the states, it was returned to the arsenal where it was converted to fire a center fire 50 caliber cartridge and was then issued to troopers out west to combat the so called Indian Wars. This carbine saw much use out west. The Lawrence rear sight has a military style replacement sight, the lever lock is missing, the fore-arm has some cracks, metal is dark patina but all legends are sharp and the butt stock is excellent. The bore is sharp and very clean. The extractor is missing. A great example of a Sharps carbine that was there. A
