Five Silver and Blue Guilloche Enamel Dresser Articles
including:
a three-piece English vanity set, hallmarked Birmingham, 1932-1933, by Albert Carter, including a hand mirror, l. 10-1/2", a handled brush, l. 9-1/8", and a hand brush, l. 5-1/2"; and
an unmarked pair of cologne bottles, each with urn-shaped glass body decorated with wheel-engraved ribboned floral garlands, the glass stopper with dauber and clad in silver with enamel cap, h. 6", dia. 3-3/4".
Condition Report: **The enamel on all pieces is in exceptional condition, with no chips, cracks or scratches. Note that the enamel of the vanity set and the bottles are of a different shade of blue. The hand brush has a scratch and a small dent to the silver on one side edge; the bristles and bases of both are secure. Mirrored plate in good condition. The glass bottles are likewise in very good condition, though one has a few flea bites on the perimeter of the stopper. Both daubers good, though one is slightly thicker and shorter than the other and has perhaps had a broken tip ground down and re-polished. The English pieces are fully hallmarked; the bottles have no maker's or purity marks.
