GREEK STATUETTE - IMPUDIC APHRODITE Elegant statuette in terracotta representing the young goddess Aphrodite. She is shown from the front, naked, slightly swayed, a knee forward. She nonchalantly wears a veil over her shoulders. Her right arm is raised and she holds the end of her veil in her hand. Her hair is pulled up by a tiara. She offers a slight smile. The features are fine, patterned in relief, details are precise, clearly distinguishing the expression of the face, the shapes of the body as well as the folds of her garment. A very charming statuette, Magna Graecia, Western Mediterranean, end of the Hellenistic period, around the 1st century BC. Height 19. 1 cm - Orange beige terracotta. Excellent preserved condition, restoration. Information regarding the origin: Acquired in 2019 in Germany, from V. Z, No. 456 . Former history: old private German collection built-up in the 1980s.
