Pocket watch/ dress watch: extremely rare square dress watch from the Art Deco period, Vacheron & Constantin for Van Cleef & Arpels, ca. 1920
Ca. 40mm x 40mm, ca. 60g, square platinum hunting case, French platinum punch, signed Van Cleef & Arpels, No.14293, fine lever movement No. 412925, signed Vacheron & Constantin, silvered dial, steel hands, spring lid inside with Art Deco monogram LB, in working order, in very beautiful condition. The case was probably made by Verger Freres. We only know of one more of these extremely rare Art Deco dress watches from Van Cleef & Arpels, auctioned for more than 50,000 Swiss Francs in 1991 (source: https://www.cortrie.de/go/BKb).
