Sculpture, lady and knight - Ormolu - Late 19th century
Two gilded bronzes. Lost wax casting of the second half of the 19th century depicting a lady and a knight mounted on two wooden supports lacquered in fake marble. The two bronzes of Italian origin were certainly part of a group as the holes on the back denote. The brass support that allows the bronzes to be adapted to the bases was certainly added later, drowned in the stucco. The bronzes were purchased by me from a known antique dealer. The measures are as follows: height with bases 31 cm, depth 16 cm, width 16 cm. Height without bases: knight 27 cm, checkers 25 cm. Total weight kg. 5,900
