Pr. Of Qingbai Glazed Covered Urns
A Pair of Chinese Qingbai Glazed Hunpings (Funerary Covered Urns). Each baluster form with iron brown accents and applied decoration consisting of a dragon, a small figure and a bird on one and a tiger, small figure, and dog on the other; both with dome form covers, surmounted by bird form finials. Most likely from the late Southern Song (960-1279) or Yuan Dynasty (1279–1368). Some chips to each, one with repaired finial. 5 1/2" diameter, up to 14" high. ESTIMATE $800-1,200 Purchased from C.C. Lai Chinese Antique Ltd in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in May of 1994.
