Persian Gold Pendant Necklace / Carved Aquamarine
19th-20th century AD. A substantial gold chain necklace with crescent links, beast-head finials, ellipsoid centrepiece comprising a gold cell with ribbed and segmented band, aquamarine cabochon (probably an older stone reset) with rosette motif to both faces. 80 grams, 43cm (17"). From the family collection of a Hampstead gentleman; formerly acquired in the 1980s; supplied with geologic report No. TL005225, by geologic consultant Dr R. L. Bonewitz.
