An important pair of mahogany and gilt-bronze mounted armchairs from the Chateau de Fontainebleau, Paris, circa 1800, stamped "Jacob frères, rue Meslée" along the underside of seat rail with Fontainebleau inventory number "Fon F 482" stamped along the interior underside of seat rail, arm terminals raised on monopodial winged lion supports, the legs terminating in paw feet. Each 36" H x 22.5" W x 18" D.
