Ancient Iberian Bronze Standing Nude Male Figure

Ancient Europe, Spain, Iberian Peninsula, Iberian culture, ca. 6th to 3rd century BCE. A cast-bronze figurine of a petite size depicting a nude male standing with arms held tightly against his sides. The rounded shoulders taper downward to a slender waist with several incised horizontal striations above a protruding phallus. The enlarged head features almond-shaped eyes, a prominent chin beneath a bulbous nose, and a swept-back coiffure. Lovely patina in mottled hues of green and brown has developed on the surface. Size: 0.8" W x 2" H (2 cm x 5.1 cm); 2.6" H (6.6 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: ex-private Richard Wagner collection, Massachusetts, USA, acquired in 1970's
