Title: Pair Chinese Export Pot de Creme circa 1790
Provenance: Pair of Chinese Export Pot de Creme circa 1790.; Fine pair of pot de creme, covered handled rounded mugs used for serving syllabub or other drinks.
These are painted in blue, orange/red and gold, with gilt monograms. The cups have lovely acorn finials and finely intertwined handles with leaf attachments.; Both cups have the shop sticker of Elinor Gordon, the legendary dealer who literally wrote the book on Collecting Chinese Export Porcelain.; Excellent overall condition with hairlines in the bottom that go about 1/2" up the side and rubbing to the gilt on the rims and finials.; The cups measure 2 3/8" diameter at the rim, and about 3 1/2" high including the covers. The covers vary slightly in size.
