19th Century Burmese Lacquerware Offering Vessel
Ca. 19th century Burmese Daungbaung-kalat or offering vessel. This piece is decorated with traditional Burmese astrological motifs, including elephant, dragon and Chinthe, in Shwe Zawa style. The large container stands on three bird legs with a domed lid and pointed top. It would have been used by men (this is a male offering vessel) to make offerings at the temple.
