This is a G. Duchange religious etching with a deceased person, mourners, and an Angel. Offered on heavy ecru paper 16" X 20", the grey etching is 10" X 18. A beautiful image, thoroughly marked. Titled "Atque in ventos vita recessit. Aenied L.4. , Ant. Coypel pinx, A Parischez Buldet Rue des Gasvres, G. Duchange skul, 1710. We don't know the history, but we do know that Gaspard Duchange, 1662-1757, was considered to be one of premier etchers in Paris. This unframed piece is in excellent condition.
