Fine Chinese 19 Century Silk Bird & Flower Embroidery with a pair of Pheasants, Pair of Egrets, Parrot, etc on flowering branches in detailed satin stitch and Peking knot on a silk backing now mounted and framed. Appear in good condition with small foxing spots, not examined out of frame. Height of art 37 3/4 inches (96 cm.) X width 11 1/2 inches (29 cm.). PROVENANCE: With a detailed description to back of frame by Venice B Lensley (?) in March, 1942, that the embroidery was brought to Kalamazoo Michigan, purchased in China in 1929 by the wife of an American Consul and framed at Marshall Field.& Co. and was one of a pair from a Chinese Palace.
