The present volumes of superbly hand-drawn regional maps of Japan are very similar to those appearing in "Kokugun Zenzu", an atlas published in 1837 based on the surveys of Ino Tadataka. In that title a general map of Japan is included, collecting a total of 75 maps. The present bound group of 74 can here be considered complete, being offered together with: a separate large contemporary manuscript map of Japan on 4 sheets of thin paper joined. 26 1/2x38 inches overall; backed on heavier stock at an early time, minimal worming.
