Ancient British coinage base core gold plated stater (3.38g) c. AD 40-47 of Corieltavi, Lat Ison type. Obverse lat Ison retrograde in central frieze, with rosettes and wreath across field. Reverse pellet and lunate style horse, lettering above and below. Good Very Fine with irregular flan edge, and extremely rare. Provenance: stated to have been discovered “on farmland close to the River Trent”, Lincolnshire in 1996 and recorded with Ashmolean Museum (ref CCI 07.2334) Plate 10
