[ translate ]

**Originally Listed At $150**

Eastern Europe, Russia, ca. 17th century CE. A cast-bronze cross with an integral tripartite suspension loop representative of the Holy Trinity, four pellet-shaped light rays extending from the four external corners, and an interior Orthodox cross flanked by the symbolic spear and vinegar stick, two instruments of the Passion. The monogram UPb CBp (King of Glory) is above the internal cross; IC XC (Jesus Christ) is on each respective lateral end; HN KT KA (Conqueror, Spear, Stick) is beneath the main interior crossbar; and MP (the place of the skull has become paradise) is underneath the image of Adam's skull in the cave. While faded, the verso displays the first verse of Psalm 68 in Cyrillic which, when translated, says, "Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered, let those also that hate Him flee before Him." The cross is slightly rough to the touch, and a lovely dark-brown patina covers the entire surface. Size: 0.75" W x 2" H (1.9 cm x 5.1 cm).

Provenance: private Orange County, California, USA collection

All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
