Description: Made in the 1920's this light look like it was originally designed in France for Ravel as an workshop task lamp by Bernard Albin Gras , the production stopped in 1970 , this one look like an early model with a round base unusual for this model. Bernard-Albin Gras, born in France in 1886, was an engineer dedicated to improving working conditions of mass laborers. An admirer of the lamp's efficient, streamlined design, Swiss architect Le Corbusier used the Model 201 ubiquitously in his offices and architectural projects. It has been cleaned but I left the original patina .At the time it was the first articulated Lampe for industrial use , Le Corbusier and many other designer of the time made profusions use of their elegant and simple line
