A Near Eastern bronze axe head
A Near Eastern bronze axe head, c. 1200 - 600 BC, the main blade vertically oriented with rounded cutting edge, the opposing blade shorter and horizontally orientated with rounded cutting edge. Both blade stem from a short cylindrical mounting shaft. 3 5/8 x 1 1/2 in (9.2 x 3.8 cm). Mottled patination. Ex Hudson, MA private collection, acquired in Israel in the late 1960's.
