Mercedes Benz Type 170 V
W 136 series, Cabriolet 2-door, four-cylinder, 1,697 cc
Year of construction 1941

This beautiful Cabriolet was extensively and sensitively restored 2017-2018. Great effort was made to stay faithful to the original. Many parts such as bumper, lights, windows and the dashboard are still original and in very well-maintained condition, emphasising the vehicles great patina. The basic frame of the body is made of hardwood. The doors and bonnet fit precisely and there are no dents. The footboards are new, as is the two-tone paintwork, which has been excellently done. The restorations to the interior are of very high quality.
The car is in a very good overall condition.
A current Classic-Data classic car report (overall grade 2) is available.

The W 136 series was introduced in 1936 and was the only prewar model to be put back into production after the end of WWII, with production continuing until 1953. The vehicle is a milestone in the history of Mercedes-Benz, created as a completely new development with many groundbreaking techniques. Its four-cylinder engine delivered 38HP and thus a top speed of over 100km / h. This engine was the basis for the proverbial reliability and durability associated with Mercedes engines, particularly as it was also used during harsh war conditions in military vehicles, such as the 170 V Kübelwagen. The oval-tubular X-frame was significantly warp-resistant and lighter than predecessors, which together with the independent suspension provided for a comfort that had previously been reserved only for upper-class luxury travel and made even longer car journeys relatively pleasant.
