Frank Will (Frank Boggs) - Paris - Notre Dame

Frank-Will 1900/1950Frank Boggs, known as Frank-Will, was born in Nanterre on 13 March 1900. After his study, he devoted himself to painting thanks to the talent that he inherited from his father the American painter Frank Meyers Boggs. In 1919, he took on the pseudonym Frank-Will. He excelled in watercolours. He painted Montmartre and Paris, his favourite subjects, but also the Marines, Galleons, the Normandy coast, Moret sur Loing, Mantes, and Morocco and other topics. He was largely influenced by Gen Paul and Leprin. He stayed in Montmartre for a long time. His paintings evolved from typical Montmartrois to Impressionism and towards the tragic Expressionism. He died in Clichy in 1950 as a result of alcohol abuse. The drawing is a watercolour. In excellent condition and signed on the bottom right.
