WWI US Mess Tin with Utensils
World War I United States scratch carved mess tin with utensils. Collection includes mess tin dated 1918 with underside scratch carved "Geo. B. Armstrong, A-46-108" below a rough scene featuring airplane, artillery piece, and city ruins with title "YPRES". Lid of mess tin features scratch carving of spread winged eagle with shield on chest with letters "U.S.N.G.". Lid also features text "UNITED STATES AMERICA" and lettering "GBA". Kit contains knife dated 1914, spoon dated 1918, undated fork, and a small corkscrew in shape of bullet with "Old Forester Whiskey" advertisement. Corkscrew measures 3" in height.
