Appeal to the Great Spirit, Cyrus Dallin's fourth equestrian subject in his iconic cycle of the American Indian, was cast in three sizes by Gorham Founders, including 283 casts in the present work's smallest size. According to the Gorham Founders ledgers, the present work #186 was shipped to Gorham Co.'s New York office on June 21, 1929.
Condition Report: Bronze with brown patina. Minor rubbing on the tail and rump. Rubbing near the rein hole mount on the mane. Minor dust in the interstices. No reins. The base filled with cement and felted. Wear to the felting.
