H.R. Ekegren, Geneva. A small gold half hunter pocket watch, Circa 1860 white enamel dial with with black Roman numerals and outer red 5 minute Arabic indication, keyless wind lever escapement, 18ct gold hinged hunter case, the front with Roman chapter, the reverse engraved with DE monogram, 32. mm diameter This watch as made by the renowned firm Ed. Koehn in Geneva, who often signed their watches "H.R. Ekegren". Henri Robert Ekegren (1823-1896) was a very well known Danish watch, clock and chronometer maker and watchmaker to the King of Denmark. He worked for notable makers such as Jürgensen, Golay and Adolph Lange before setting up on his own in Geneva. Edouard Koehn (1839-1908) initially trained in the workshops of Patek Philippe.
This small sized watch is in good general condition with one small dent to the front but no dents to the band. The dial is in good condition with no visible cracks.
