A pair of patinated bronze sculptures. Oval marble plinth. 19th Century.
Measurements: Each 43 x 25 x 13,5 cm.
The sculptures are depicting the two Greek male boxer in all their glory. This sculpture embodies not only physical prowess but also an exquisite representation of human anatomy. Damoxenos stands in a defensive position with his arms up in front of him. Kreugas, on the other hand, is more outgoing with his left hand held above his head and his right hand clasped. The composition is enhanced by the inclusion of vegetal elements surrounding the figure. Lush foliage gracefully intertwines with the two boxers, creating a harmonious blend between man and nature.
