Handwriting. Bernadotte, Charles Jean-Baptiste, Marshal of France (1764-1844). A 3-page handwritten and signed letter from Marshal Jean-Babtiste Bernadotte to General Jean Babtiste Kléber dated Coblence 20 pluvoise an IV, (19 February 1796). The letter deals with preparations for a campaign to India and Bernadotte says that he would very much like to participate in the campaign, but with the proviso that it is General Kléber who is the commander of the expedition. “... vous connaissés, mon cher Général, mon affection pour vous, mon amitié sincère...”.Show more
