French Louis XV boulle mantel clock with plinth, circa 1740-1750. The clock having blue-on-white Roman hour numerals, surrounded by further 5 minute numbered to outer track, sculpted steel hands, 19th century marquetry encasement of ebonized wood and brown tortoiseshell inlaid with brass and cast with foliate gilt metal mounts, surmounted with a classical gilt brass putti, case interior is inlaid to the door and a radial-lozenge tiled floor fine, tall recessed arched side windows, to reveal a brass movement with twin barrel, outside countwheel bell striking movement with verge escapement regulated by a pendulum, brass black plate engraved Jean Jacques Fieffé approx 52 h x 25 w cms. - Condition Report This clock has not been wound or tested.
