A GEORGE III MAHOGANY BUTTERFLY PEMBROKE TABLE, LATE 18TH CENTURY, the table top has two short serpentine edged flaps that are supported on a pair of brackets, over with four slender tapering legs with square feet, cross stretchers with finial at intersection, fret work pierced brackets between leg and apron, apron drawer to each end one of which is a sham drawer, brass angular loop handles and keyhole.

Provenance: From a collection of furniture and antiques left to the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB ) in 1939 by Evelyn Stannus of Kensington. Items in the collection are believed to have come from Ireland. Since 1939 many objects from the collection have been on loan to the National Trust and this item has been displayed at Lyme Park.
