The XK was the long-awaited successor to the XJS, which was already 22 years old. The introduction of the XK also served as the introduction to the market of Jaguar's new AJ-V8 engine. The XK was available as coupé and convertible and always featured a 4 l V8 engine linked to a 5-speed automatic transmission. There were two versions that differed in power however, one with 294 hp and one with 363 hp. The latter of these two was powered by a supercharger. The version without supercharger was named XK8, while the version with supercharger was given the name XKR. This XK8 from 1996 has a metallic topaz gold colour. This gives the classic sports car a gorgeous, luxurious appearance. The interior features black 'Warm Charcoal' leather and is finished with a wooden 'Burr Walnut' dashboard and details made of the same material. There is plenty of luxury to be seen. It is obviously a Jaguar of course. This is also reflected in the retail price, which was around €100,000 at the time. The mileage is only approximately 146,000 km. The Jaguar features a petrol/LPG engine. The 4. 0 l V8 engine provides 284 hp and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in a nice 7 seconds. The engine block runs smoothly and makes the car drive well. Furthermore, the car features a Harman Kardon sound system which produces the very best sound. The included documentation is comprised of two original folders with the accessory manuals and instruction booklets. An inspection report is included as well. The car has been in possession of the current owner for over 12 years by now. The XK8 has also just passed the Dutch Periodic Vehicle Inspection again.
