CHINESE EXPORT 'LEAPING PEKINGESE' DISH, 18TH CENTURY
possibly after a design by Cornelis Pronk, the central roundel filled with a leaping Pekingese dog in blue enamel, with four shaped cartouches containing a parrot on a perch, a pair of doves, a cockatoo and a crane in flight all reserved on an iron-red patterned, thin blue line around rims
Dimensions: Diameter: 9 in. (22.9 cm.)
Condition: Wear and small losses to iron-red ground and to blue enamel. Thin blue enamel band to rims is slightly wavy - possibly a repaint?
