Queen Augusta of Prussia - a splendid vase with serpent-shaped handles, 1861 - 1890
White, glazed porcelain with matte cobalt blue ground and subtle gilding with etched details, in the form of an amphora, screwed to an octagonal stand with grey felt glued to the base. On the obverse a fine portrait of the queen in shades of grey wearing a ladies' order ribbon, two unglazed part-gilt snake handles. Partially somewhat rubbed, signs of use and age. Overall height 43 cm. Elegant, aesthetically pleasing vase, most likely made by the KPM.
