Newcomb College Art Pottery Matte Glazed Bowl, 1914, decorated by Alice Raymond Scudder, with oak leaves in low relief with blue and green underglaze, base marked with Newcomb cipher, JM decorator's mark, reg. no. "GY18" and "C" for buff clay and shape no. "256", H.- 3 3/8 in., Dia.- 6 1/2 in.
Condition Report: In overall very good condition with no visible losses, cracks or repairs. The inside and bottom of the vase exhibit light staining/discoloration and there is fine crazing to glaze throughout. A rare Newcomb example.
