Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five (20th Century)
Moose Hunters Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1937). "A moose!" "Hot dog! Now do your stuff. I'll take care of the rest." Disguised as a shrub on stilts, it's none other than Mickey Mouse himself in this impressive original animation drawing from his 1937 short Moose Hunters. In this classic 9 minute long Ben Sharpsteen-directed theatrical short, Mickey and his companions Goofy and Donald manage to spot a moose but prove to be utterly hopeless as big game hunters. A fantastically expressive and large drawing of Mickey, this image can be spotted early on near the 0:58 mark of the short. Presented on a sheet of 12 field animation paper, Mickey has been rendered in graphite and colored pencil to a character size of 7.75" x 8" including his botanical disguise, with the shotgun and much of the disguise highlighted in color. The 5-peghole sheet includes a wealth of color callouts and bares production codes along the lower edge. With typical studio handling and wear including age-related toning, faint staining, and superficial surface wrinkles, overall this majestic Mouse is in Very Good condition.
