1893-CC $20 MS61 NGC. Variety 2-A. A single reverse and two obverses were used to create two die pairs for the 1893-CC double eagle. Although the mintage was low at only 18,402 pieces, a significant number of these coins were exported for international trade payments, and in recent decades they have returned to numismatic channels and elevated the availability of this issue. Nonetheless, Mint State coins remain highly sought after, if for no other reason than this is the last Carson City issue in the series. The current MS61 coin displays vibrant straw-gold luster rolling through strong cartwheel bands. A sharp strike adds to the appeal, while light abrasions limit the grade. From The Avraham Collection.
