1948-S 1C, RD
1948-S 1C MS66 Red PCGS. The San Francisco Mint struck more than 81 million Lincoln cents in 1948, but many examples were struck from worn, overly polished dies, resulting in weak strikes and insipid luster characteristics. The present coin is a happy exception to the rule. Close examination with a loupe reveals only microscopic imperfections across the lustrous and nicely struck surfaces of this spectacular Premium Gem, adding to the terrific eye appeal.
